cc//heads over to ZPE again

cc_news_zpe_lp6Last time I went to a Zero Ping event I was left with such a positive impression that I’m headed out there again this coming weekend with a few others and looking forward to another gathering with fellow punters that defy online gaming convention and opt to pack up their precious gear to head over to a low latency experience with other like-minded individuals.

The venue is the same this time around and the event is forming up to grow on past experience and deliver even more positivity this summer! With ZPE having just launched a new web site, announced several tournaments and boasting a still-growing list of attendees we’re excited to get to the hockey rink to support the LAN scene and one another. If you’re from Detroit, Montreal, New York City, Chicago, Toronto or anywhere in between and think LANs are a good thing you should pack up your gear and add to the numbers of people already heading there instead of moaning that there aren’t enough of these things kicking around.

LANs are different all over the world and ZPE is no exception, it does however offer something a bit unique: it’s Canadian in so many ways, from the venue and overall attitude through to the most important aspect: the people. A great bunch was there last year — heck, I met some stand-up blokes that ended up playing under our banner and brought themselves up to being ESEA champions – what will this year bring? Check out the site, show up to say hi and have some fun, we’ll squeeze out some updates as the event progresses if you can’t attend so fire up that browser, twitter and what not and we’ll see you on the ice!

cc//BFBC2 Update

Those of us yearning for a mixed combat environment and willing to overlook some of the expected issues present in a DICE/EA/BF release have been dutifully pursuing two simultaneous Bad Company 2 campaigns on two continents with great results.

On the European front our squad has managed to go undefeated on Clanbase and rise up in to the tenth position of the ladder with the focus and attention to detail that truly has the makings of something special. Team Captain cc//Bradders has the following update for us:

“The EU BFBC2 Team is enjoying a great start to Clan Base wining our first 2 matches and placing us 9th out of 37 within the Ladder. This is down to great play and commitment from the team.”

In addition it’s worth noting that there will be some openings on this squad due to work engagements and military deployments – now is your chance to get in touch and secure a position in tryouts and be part of this exciting campaign!

Not to be outdone, the North American squad has also stepped up with a surprising roster (which we’d previously mentioned had combined 70+ years of Crack Clan membership) which has managed to go undefeated on their climb up the TeamWarfare ladder and place themselves in the top 20. Not bad for a team with a relatively light schedule and a rotation-based roster, long-time member cc//Hogtyd enthusiastically contributes the following quote:

“This campaign has me really excited, after a few struggles at the start, we have pulled together a good group of players whose skills in all areas of the game have improved tremenduosly. Once again, I feel, all other clans will be talking about Crack Clan as we steadily move up the ladder to our final destination, NUMBER 1.”

Unfortunately we don’t have any openings available on this squad but are open to being approached if someone thinks they might be the right fit for a group that likes to think, try and have a good time while they’re at it.

We’ll be adding BFBC2 results to the front page shortly so that you can follow our cross-continental journey. If you’re looking to get in touch with either of the squads just leave cc//Bradders (EU) or cc//dox (NA) a note and I’m sure we’ll get back to you!

Crack Clan TF2 Off Season Changes

compton5mg2On top of welcoming our French TF2 team Crack Clan TF2 is seeing some off season changes after their fantastic first season. Santa has chosen to leave the team to pursue others for next season and we wish him luck with that – his meowing will be missed! BvD has taken the position of full time backup due to having real life things to do (read: Chasing skirts all summer.) This was something confirmed mid season. Retsh0ck has decided to remain soldier for next season, therefore we have been looking for a skilled Demoman and Soldier. It is with great pleasure we can finally announce our new soldier after searching for a long time.

Welcome (back) to Crack Clan compton!
Hey whatup, I’m compton, a Finnish guy in love with TF2. I’ve been playing Soldier in cvx/Breeze/Crack Clan 2 and The MIPC Organization and more recently Demoman in Catching Bullets. Switching back to Soldier for Crack Clan feels like coming back to home, to be honest. After playing a few games with Psun, r0cky, Tom and Retsh0ck they made me feel welcome, and to get that kind of support right from the start feels great and I’m looking forward to our first officials with the upcoming full roster! I’m 21, I work at an IT company as an all-around technical assistant, I enjoy sushi, dubstep, coffee and white wines. When I miss my rockets, I stop missing and start hitting instead. True story.

During our off season period we are taking some time to enjoy TF2 in the Ubercharge league and have signed up to ETF2L’s All Fucking Summer league. Hopefully we will find our ideal demoman soon – for now, bring out the cake!
