There’s two realizations I’d like to bring to you, not just in words but with a way to verify them yourself, read on:
1. I haven’t played an online game without using team work and voice comms in over 16 years
2. I believe that DICE intends Battlefield 4 to be a game that is better with team work and voice comms
The first fact alone has led me on a path that started here and carried all types of twists and turns from the most casual LOLs to the most serious of pro level e-sports in countless titles.
I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by like-minds from around the globe, folks that not only believe in this kind of online interaction but also practice it with regularity, so much so that we’ve launched two servers meant to speak directly to this kind of experience – both of them are a runaway success: they are almost always full of people from all over the world playing to that ideal.
This week we’re going to kick it up a notch – we’re going to smash the typical “clan stack” situation you see on most servers and do the exact opposite: each one of us will try to populate a squad leader position across both teams and support commanders on each side using in-game VOIP and your help!
So please join us on the first play test of this concept as we attempt to take real teamwork in to a 64 player public server – don’t worry about winning, losing or pings – it’s all about getting the most out of the Battlefield 4 experience!
