cc//1.6 in Stockholm for IOL

cc_iol_ffFour qualifier tournaments through 2009 are culminating today at the famous Sergels torg in Stockholm as our Counter-Strike team come off of winning WCG Finland to play at the Inferno Online League Final 4 event.  There’s thirty thousand Swedish Kronor, monitors and televisions from Philips up for grabs at the event where four 1.6 powerhouses including Begrip, SK, H2k and our own Crack Clan face off to do battle in a very public way.

The excitement kicks off at 13:00 CET today with the best of three played out between Begrip and SK (our match against H2k Gaming will start after that) you can follow some of the events on as well as updates on our web site.

UPDATE: Unfortunately it didn’t go our way, congratulations to Begrip who took H2K in the grand final and won the trophy!

cc// Halo3 WIN Multiplay i37

haloWhilst our CounterStrike and Team Fortress 2 teams are competing at Assembly Summer in Helsinki, Finland, our Halo3 team are looking to reaffirm their status as the number 1 team in Europe at Multiplay i37 where £2500 is up for grabs. Due to the team’s first seeding, they received a bye in the first round before defeating both We Like Sports and Veterens 3-0. The team then had another comfortable victory over The Imperial, winning 3-1 in their only game of the day. They faced Team Dignitas in the Upper Bracket Final earlier this afternoon and won 3-2 in an exciting match.

The team just faced Dignitas again in the grand final on the main stage and ran out comfortable winners, taking the series 3-1 and the final 6-3 overall to confirm their status as the number one side in the UK. This means the team takes away £1200 and free entry to i38 where we will again see them compete later this year!

cc//cs1.6 WIN WCG Finland

cc_banner_cs16This weekend whilst our Halo 3 team are competing at Multiplay i37, our CounterStrike 1.6 team are playing in the WCG Finland qualifiers at Assembly Summer in Helsinki, where they are also joined by our Team Fortress 2 team. With the winning team receiving an all-expenses paid trip to the WCG Finals in China later this year, the pressure is on to reverse their recent results and affirm their status as the number 1 team in Finland over their main rivals Excello, whose lineup includes former cc// players contE and plastE.

We have been forced to use Konsta “kookas” Kaisla as a standin for Niko “naSu” Kovanen for this event as Niko has been taken to hospital. We would like to wish him a speedy recovery and thank Konsta for playing with us at this event.

Our team won their group with ease yesterday and just beat munkka 2-0 in the semi final. They will now face either Excello in the final, which will take place at 23.30CET. You can tune into the match on

Update: The team came from losing the first map inferno 16-10 to take train 16-7 and nuke 16-8 to qualify for the WCG Finals which will take place in Chengdu, China in November. We’re also pleased to say that Niko “naSu” Kovanen made a quick recovery and was able to play the final.

cc// TF2 at Assembly Summer

cc_tf2proThis weekend our Team Fortress 2 team have been competing alongside our CounterStrike 1.6 team at Assembly Summer in an exhibition tournament for Nvidia and Samsung. The team were invited along with dignitas, afterlife and our own amateur team, however they were not able to advance to the final as they lost out on round difference after a disappointing loss to afterlife, meaning that our golden cap victory over Dignitas was not enough to put us into the final.

They will face our amateur team again in the 3rd place playoff at 21.30CET and you can watch the match live on sourcetv at
