Started from the bottom now we're here! My gaming roots kicked off in smoke-filled arcades and have continued to this day. I love supporting the community we've built up over all of these years.. I get my kicks out of teamwork, executing plans and the high5s that come afterwards. There's a special place in my heart for online multiplayer FPS games placed within realistic settings; but I'll play anything with my pals.

Welcome to 2017, Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from Crack Clan! We’d like to wish you all the best in 2017 from us to you and hope this year will be the best you’ve ever had!  In typical Crack Clan fashion we rung in the new year at the tail end of a bunch of boisterous gaming over the holiday season with Steam sales bringing us all types of new adventures and an opportunity to mash out some good gaming with our buddies. Also, as we do most years, we treated each other to another annual Secret Santa event where names were drawn for clan mates to find something special for each other, package it up and mail it in time for the holidays – this year was a truly epic one, just look at some of these!

This next year promises to be yet another amazing one as we complete our 19th year together and continue to be entertained by great games, teamwork and good times. Thanks everyone for a great 2016, we look forward to more Battlefield, Siege, GTA, Survival games, one offs, feats of strength, gatherings and more with you – don’t forget to hang out in Discord and bring your friends (

Insurgency server, Discord, Council update

insurgencyIt looks like Thursdays are the right place for playing some Insurgency! We picked up a server which runs in public mode for every other day until it has a password applied on Thursdays for anyone that’s interested in joining the rest of us in our series of battles against one another. It’s only been a couple of weeks but we tend to get 7v7’s going, come on out or just drop us a line whether you’d like to join us or provide a suggestion for the public server.

Our Discord test has gone just over three weeks and we’ve received a pretty good amount of feedback. It seems like it may actually have come out as a really great communications centre for us; we’ve enjoyed great daily activity since we started and nearly a hundred folks have come to hang out together in this mobile, tablet, browser, desktop friendly platform. It looks like we’ll be making this our hangout for the time being, we’re setting up Mumble, Teamspeak and Ventrilo servers as backup but for the time – especially if you haven’t visited yet – just follow this invite link to immediately connect with the rest of us, say hello!

On a slightly different note, we have an internal update for you: for years now we’ve had a group of members who we call Council, these are typically representative positions that are held by members who aid in one or more of our initiatives. Today we’re thrilled to announce that cc//Smithy has joined us up on Council rounding out the group currently made of cc//dox, cc//GeeCee and cc//redfireant3. This isn’t his first rodeo as he was previously a Council member for our Guild Wars 2 campaign back in the summer of 2012 and has already been an active member for a decade, we’re excited to have his drive and energy back on board, cc//Smithy had this to say:

“It’s great to be back in the Crack Clan Council, I have been a longtime member and have always had a vision for where I wanted to see Crack Clan go. After a tough start in Guild Wars 2 and 2 kids later I am back in the group helping make the decisions putting in the time and battling in the trenches doing the hard work. I want to see Crack Clan grow and our brothership to prosper.. Most of all I want us to all have fun while wearing our try pants!”

With try pants on and a round of high5s thanks to all, come on out and visit us in text or voice right now by joining us in Discord, we look forward to it!

Testing a New Comms Platform: Discord

Historically speaking we’ve tried everything there is at Crack Clan; from speakerphones to Roger Wilco through to Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Mumble and more.  Today we’ve got a new trial for a communications platform that has been making some waves and we’re inviting you to try it out with us, idle for a bit and let us know what you think.

discord-shield-logoOn paper, Discord offers several advantages over competitors, whether it’s multi-platform support, DDoS protection, In-Game overlays, no-hassle use (you can just click to join in your browser) or just competitive voice quality.

In practice it offers a unique combined blend of text and voice features that also carries media embedding (share those YouTube videos and GIFs) so you can pop in and read or hear what we’re chatting about; you don’t even have to create an account if you don’t want to.

Some of us have already been bashing it around with a couple of game and chat sessions – push notifications make DM’ing easy no matter what device we’re using and feedback insofar has been surprisingly optimistic, it’s held up well so far.

We’re inviting all of Crack Clan to come take a stab at it, whether it’s to help us evaluate the software or whether it’s been a while and you just want to pop your head in. Hit any of the relevant links to get connected and play a few rounds!

Happy 2016!

Happy New Year everyone — big huge high5s issued to our awesome chosen family that’s put yet another year together in the pursuit of next level gaming.  We’re coming off of the back of another successful period which has found us enjoying a myriad of titles, some of them regularly (BF4 nights are still rocking every Monday) and some of them in a bandwagon sense.  This past year we also stopped along the way to pull off another amazing gathering and celebrated the glorious return of Crack Clan Secret Santa!

Crack Clan Secret Santa 2016

Holy Moly, look at all that loot!

2016 has plenty to look forward to, not just from the perspective of new titles coming to release but also a rejuvenation and launch of some new exciting projects that have been under construction for the past few months.  We’ve got significant new infrastructure and support on the horizon as well as some e-sports announcements to make in the coming months.  While that’s under way we’re also rolling out a new site for the classic clan component (please bear with us as we continue to construct elements, pull in legacy data/pages and fix bugs) while the CC Global Gaming initiative continues under its own domain.  We’re also adding even more regular events for clan members and friends alike so stay tuned for more information and thanks again for participating in the longest lived gaming organization of its type!
