Re: Olympics - Opening Ceremony

I thought it was awesome. As for the expense, how often do you get to have the whole world over for dinner? \:D/

US credit rating on fire

Here in the US we don't have to destroy our own stuff anymore. Our do-nothing Congress has proven they can do it for us. In the wake of this unprecedented disaster they have resumed arguing and playing the blame game in lieu of finding solutions or getting on with the business of good governance. De...

Re: Norway on Fire.

I was so hurt to see this. It's like the Oklahoma City bombing in the US, but even worse.

@clumsy: a cc// at heart? RO2 is scheduled to release soon. We should have several teams. You have a place here.

In the wake of 9-11 Pres. Bush declared this guy public enemy #1 - wanted dead or alive. I didn't hear a lot of disagr...

I just bought the Asus HD 6870 Direct CU for my new build. I think the ATI offerings are better than the NVidia stuff ATM.

Re: First Orbit

Aerospace is one of the most math intensive areas there is Wolfie. :) I was a physics major first time around, and the aerospace guys were thrown into our core classes; most floundered. You'd better either re-examine your goals or your feeling about math cause you're in for one heck of a tough ride ...

Re: First Orbit

Getting to the moon and back repeatedly with slide rule tech is something that will forever stand out to me as one of the greatest monuments to ingenuity, courage and curiosity in recorded human history. I think it's indicative of the insignificance, mental laziness and apathy of the current generat...

This is a fascinating subject. Recent developments in cosmology have made me think that we are on the cusp of something that may cause us to remodel some of our fundamental assumptions about general relativity. I mean 'dark energy' lol. 'dark matter' lolol. It seems more realistic to me to assume th...

Re: Libya

I'm pleased to see the EU taking the lead in this, at least on paper. I am also pleased to see the 'International Community' trying to make itself relevant again somehow. While we're at it, maybe we should hang some Somali pirates? :pirate:
