Re: Brevik Trial - Insane or no?

Legally they have to put a minimum term on sentences, but he'll be held indefinitely - it's just some red tape etc. Yeah if he got paroled early I'd say that was a bit of a joke.

Re: Brevik Trial - Insane or no?

I'm actually really glad they didn't find him insane.

21 years is not that much, but he'll never get out I don't think.

Re: Julian Assange

Do you think he picked Ecuador because they don't have such a great relationship with the US? Going for a common enemy etc. Be interesting to see what happens next.

Julian Assange

What are people's views on this situation?

As I understand it, the guy hasn't been charged with a crime, and is well within his rights to apply for political asylum wherever he chooses. I don't believe the allegations against him hold any weight at all and were most likely fabricated.

Re: Olympics - Opening Ceremony

I was gutted - I missed the final of the ladies football. GBR did get a Gold medal in Taekwondo though which is amazing!!! What I want to know is, what's with loads of the athletes having blue tongues - like, in almost every sport!!?? I wondered if it was something to keep them from getting dehydrat...

Re: Olympics - Opening Ceremony

The standard of football is also far lower than that of the premiership! No way. The premier league players may have their moments of class, but they just don't make up for all the other aspects of their game which fall short in terms of sportsmanship. Anyway! Things to watch today - diving, hockey...

Re: Olympics - Opening Ceremony

Yeah, I was just saying to people earlier - it's SO nice to not see: Shirt Grabbing Spitting Crotch Scratching Diving Racial Abuse Primadonna-esque behaviour The Olympic football standards are FAR higher than anything you see in the premier leagues. Excellent viewing. I must say, I'm hooked - if it'...

Re: Olympics - Opening Ceremony

Haha yeah I noticed that too - I think it's weird that people so young are allowed to compete?! I was disappointed the girlie footballers got smashed last night by Canada, they played rubbish and nowhere near as good as they had previously! Also, on the subject of the Javelin: I can't believe that t...

Re: Olympics - Opening Ceremony

I know what you mean. I rarely enjoy watching football but have the watched the mens and the womens and actually enjoyed it. Seems like there's less spitting, diving, bad language etc and more sportsmanlike behaviour. What I've really enjoyed though, is the Judo. It's a bit tactical and not as aggre...
