I think the final straw for the Republican party for me was their "Drill baby, drill!" chant. It's just such an ignorant thing to say. They want to use the United State's oil instead of looking forward and developing alternatives to oil and increasing efficiency.

While the Democratic party may have had a little of the same vibe at some times, I think they are more forward thinking. This is what we need right now.

People that worry too much about taxes are missing the bigger picture, in my opinion. Of course we'd all love not to pay taxes, but they are a necessary evil. Things need to get paid for, and if you have enough money to complain about taxes, just live within your means (many US citizens don't know how) and it won't be an issue.

I really didn't follow politics much before this race, but I couldn't sit on the sidelines for this one. There was just too much on the line.

Finally - a step toward tackling the anti-american global reality; USA gained a point on the world stage for the first time in many long years. However there is a lot more work to be done that a simple vote can't address, I hope you keep stepping forward and wish you the best of luck.

This guy has less experience than Palin. Let's "HOPE' audacioulsly that he doesn't fuck up.

He is a chameleon, telling people what they want to hear, not what reality is. He has been a far left wing liberal, who bamboozeled the people into thinking he is a more center candidate than he is.

Time will tell.

Let the testing begin.

I wonder which terrorist organization, or terrorist sponsoring state he is going to sit down with first.

Hey, if only you tell people you like them, they will like you too, right?

Only thing I can say is how naive.

actually he has more education put together than mcain and palin. Although he has not been govenor of alaska, he is a specialist in congressional law amongst other things.

yeah well right wing has ruled america, and look where it is right now. In my pitiful view, you are better off with a Government that can deal with the issues facing the US and world, and i know that isnt THE REPUBLICANS.

Competency is not the same as experience. Your current president had 4 years of experience (plus another 4 watching his father) at the very job for which he was applying before beginning his last term and look how well that worked out.

Not that my opinion counts for much, I come from Finland after all but I followed the campaigns pretty closely. I think it's a shame that Ron Paul wasn't the republican candidate but I would pick a left wing liberal over a religious fanatic any day. Not that John McCain seems to be one but Sarah Palin definitely fits that category. And with McCain being 72 years old, there's a good chance that Palin would have become the president at some point if John McCain was elected.

Obama seems to be an intelligent man and now US has a good chance to amend the ridiculous reputation that you have in the eyes of the rest of the world. I hope that with the bad election results that the republican party got, they would now understand as well that having the Christian fundamentalists running the country and their party is a bad, bad idea.

Hahaha...

Let me be clear, I don't care what the rest of the world thinks about Me, Texas, or America. I happen to think that the fact that you think we are doing something wrong, validates my argument that we are doing it right. Any misunderstandings on this point? I don't instruct you on how to live, run or protect your life or country.

If you expect us not to defend ourselves when people are trying to kill us, then I don't think any logical or emotional argument on any issue with you would be fruitful.

Enjoy starting wars? Are you kidding? Have you served in the military like I have? Have you seen dead bodies like I have? Have you seen a 15 year old girls forehead peeled back over the top of what's left of her skull by a round from an AK in my line of work? This statement by you is insulting. How old are you? Do you have a job? Do you do anything except sit behind a computer all day?

Finland has a reputation of collaboration with NAZI's. Wow, sounds good to me. You guys allied with people who burned human beings alive. Men, women, children, babies. Don't even say anything about our reputation. Who are you anyway. The only reason you aren't a part of Russia right now is because of the USA and our willingness to fight the Communists. Are you so gaddamned ignorant not to realize that? How can I reason with or argue with people who can't see that the shy is blue?

You peolpe are rediculous and I am clearly wasting my time trying to explain anything to you.

Have a nice life. Just don't illegally immigrate to the US.

Good chance this is the single reason why Obama got elected. In US presidential elections the president is often decided by the white male, as was the case here. The Majority of women voted with McCain, while males overwhelmingly voted Obama. But anyone who believes that the country has made a turn is sadly mistaken and doesn't understand American politics, the only thing that happened here was the fake, lying bums got thrown out, Donald Duck could have won this election. We are still looking for a party to lead us and Obama may be the man to do that but not coupled with the Congress he has. Lets see if he's got the balls to stand up to Pelosi and Reid, if not, well Obama will be out as fast as Bush 41.

Texas had a very narrow margin in electing McCain over Obama.

Also, you are ridiculous (see how I spelled that correctly) and you are clearly wasting all of our time by posting here, so maybe we should just mutually agree that you refrain from posting on these forums?
