League of Legends sneaks in Spyware

Post by justice7ca » Sat Jun 16, 2012 12:16 pm

Been having a bit of trouble with my PC, and after some searching about -- turns out a 2MB program called "Pando Media Booster" gets shoved in with the installation of League of Legends. Yes you can delete it from the control panel, however this tiny little "peer cloud video sharing app" has caused me enormous trouble from bogging down my upstream (seriously eating up my upstream 24/7), killing ping times and slowing my system to a crawl. I feel kinda dumb for letting this thing slip by...

Anyway , this is a good reminder to check out your process list in windows ... PMB.EXE is the culprit, and if you have it, might want to get rid of it.

LOL went out the door with it. Fuckers.

Huh, I play quite a bit of LoL and I've noticed this process in the task manager when the games open but hasn't caused any clearly visible problems for me.
