Welcome to Obama's entitled society

Post by weezer » Tue Mar 24, 2009 2:03 am

By Marc Hirsch | Hirsch, of Roanoke, has a background in the coatings and chemical industry where he worked for almost 30 years. Recently, he changed to the energy market.

This is an Obama vent letter. Typically, I despise people who complain and don't offer a solution to make things better. But in this case, other than moving out of the country, the solutions are few, far between and not palatable. Waiting four years seems to be it.

OK, so President Obama is kicking it into high gear. And all of the "wealthy" people, e.g., people earning more than $250,000 per year, will be taxed more heavily to subsidize those without. Hmmm. Sounds like socialism or communism to me.

My parents raised and instilled in me the desire to do the best I could for myself and to get ahead and to do the best I could for my children. After a college education and 30 years, I have developed a career. Now with Obama's plan, that puts me in position to pay for those who don't have all of the fruits of the labors that I earned.

Don't get me wrong -- I believe in supporting those people who truly are in need of help. And I can empathize with the masses of people who have been laid off. I was one of them in 2004, which is the reason we live in Roanoke instead of Midland, Mich. But I know as many people who have taken this "opportunity" to use/abuse the system as ones who truly want to get back into the workforce and earn a living. Think deadbeat dads, especially. What a perfect excuse to not have to pay child support or alimony. And with the proposed and enacted mortgage changes, all Obama has done is create a system whereby people who are capable of working and contributing can take advantage and lie back and let others take care of them.

For a two-income family with elementary- or middle-school-age children, there are many costs that actually help the economy. Take away one income, reduce your discretionary spending, and we will actually hurt a segment of the economy. There are child care expenses and many activities that enrich the lives of children, such as academic and sports camps, music and dance lessons, as well as workshops.

Most people want to help those who truly need help. What most dislike are the cheaters and lazy people who scam the system. That makes people skeptical and not willing to help in general. Honestly hurting people are hurt even more.

Class warfare is a horrible trap to fall into especially at the hands of your government who's only intention is enrage people so they can push their agenda through. While everyone is upset looking the other way our rights are being stolen from us by the very people who are supposed to protect us(under the guise of protecting us). And this isn't new, it's not an Obama thing, this has been happening for decades going all the way back to FDR and some would argue Teddy.

This latest labeling of the "rich" is absolutely absurd. What we must understand is that no matter how much our government "taxes" (steal from) the rich they still won't have enough to pay for all that they want to do. So what happens then? Then they come for us! They come for the little guy, they come for the families working their asses off just to get by, they come for all the people they swore they were here to protect. Slippery slope.

So go get mad at AIG bouses, get pissed at all the CEO's but remember your government stole your money and gave it away. And all this in the name of saving the world from disaster...Then we have that other "disaster" global warming. I was gonna say that's a different story but really just another way to control us little people.

What was Hoover's tax rate for the "rich" again? I'm not a big guy on politics, but making sweeping generalizations isn't a great idea.
