[Movie] Donnie Darko

Post by Vengeance » Thu Feb 21, 2008 4:58 am

After being told for all but six years now that I had to see this movie; I finally used my bandwidth and downloaded this movie. I watched it through once for mindless entertainment purposes, and was left feeling like I watched a "good movie." Then, because I knew this movie required a lot more analysis, watched it through a second time for understanding. This movie made me think more than any other. I won't throw in spoilers, but this movie has quickly drawn itself to one of my favorite movies of all time. This movie is almost impossible to write anything more specific without giving out huge spoilers.

I liked it a lot. Great soundtrack.

The big piss off for me was, it used to be one of those DVD's that was like, $30 new and you could never find it.

Of course that's when I bought it.

Now, it's one of those dvd's that are $6.99/2 for $10. :P

Did you watch the directors cut? It's even better as it explains quite a bit more.

Great movie (& sound track), it's high on my list of favorites.

Thread revive for good purposes, only visit the site if you've watched the movie.

My high school web page design class rated it the best design out of like a couple hundred pages we looked at.

Donnie Darko has always been one of my favorite movies.. ive yet to see the directors cut but even though ive seen it many times and seen many of the hidden meanings in things.. I still dont get everything. I dont think that this is one of those movies that you are SUPPOSED to ever understand completely. Whenever I thought I had it down, someone or something threw my theory to the wayside. It was amusing to me, at the least, to be shot down so many times. However, this is exactly what will keep me wanting to watch it, because it really does have a lot of replay value.

My friend's been bugging me to watch it for about.. A long time for sure. Anyway, I did watch it once (while playing WoW - dark times), didn't really get that much out of it, except for Frank being really scary - might have to watch it again.

Yeah, the Director's Cut is good. It really puts to rest all of peoples hairbrained theories about whats going on.
