i was in the market also ive been looking that the Asus VE23 something dont have the specs atm.. but off the top of my head it was $189.. 2ms GTG response time native 1920x1080 23.6 inch screen and something like a 10,000 :1 contrast ratio i think..

Check out the Acer G245 24".

2ms response time / 80'000:1 contrast ratio. All the ports etc and nice looking. Not an amazing brand and not LED but not bad for £139.99.

If you definately want an LED but don't mind having a slower response time at 5ms I like the Acer S240HLBID 24" at £149. It has a 100'000'000:1 contrast ratio.

Seems if you want a faster response time you will have to sacrifice a little on the other specs. I looked at a few 22" screens but you don't seem to save much money by coming down in size.

Do response times matter that much on a monitor? Surely there are bigger factors contributing to delay, especially online. 2-5 ms seems like a moot point to me. More of a question than an observation though as I'm just guessing

All I know is that supposedly, a faster response time is better for gaming / movies / graphics. I would never have been able to tell but when I bought a 5ms Iilyama last year and sat it next to my 2ms LG W2486L the difference was noticable even on the desktop and also whilst scrolling through text. The Iilyama had ghosting when the mouse pointer moved. I'd probably never have noticed though if I hadn't had them both side by side. I ended up with an Asus VE248H as my second screen, 2ms, no more ghosting.
